GMSSSS THANA was established in 1952 and it is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in Rural area. It is located in PEHOWA block of KURUKSHETRA district of HARYANA. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 12. The school is Co-educational and it doesn't have an attached pre-primary section. The school is N/A in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. Hindi/English is the medium of instructions in this school. This school is approachable by all weather road. ABOUT NSQF
GMSSSS Thana is implementing NSQF which is a nationally integrated education and competency based skill framework to enhance employability skills of our students by introducing applied learning skills in integration with academic streams. As per scheme of vocational education GMSSSS Thana (2015-16) include applied skill in IT/ITes and Physical Education & Sports as one of the electives offered to students from class 9 onwards. There are many benefits of NSQF to name just a few. Students choose NSQF subjects with traditional study primarily because it includes Guest Lecture(providing a Certified and expert Resource persons from near-by industries came to schools and share their skills and experiences with students),Field Visits (Student were taken to near-by industries for experience the live working and learn things practically, on-job Training (real time job-training is provided to students in their concerned skills/sectors),Counseling/ Job fair ,Placements and apprenticeship. After counseling of students, those who are interested in placements, A job fair is organized and students placed in company of their choice and requirements.
ABOUT ECO - CLUB
The name of Eco Club of GMSSS, Thana is Panther ECO Club. This Club has already developed an Herbal Garden. This Garden has a number of medicinal plants, trees and shrubs.. The members of the Eco Club are taking full care of cleanliness and planting drive in the School as well as nearby areas. The Club organizes many other activities like Quizzes, Rallies, and Debates etc on the environmental issues. The Incharge of the Club is Jasbir Singh(Punjabi Teacher).
ABOUT BAG FREE DAY
Saturday is observed as Bag free/ joyful day among students. The School organizes a rally on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ to make people aware. The School also organizes many other activities like Quizzes, paintings, Rallies, essay writing and Debates etc on environmental issues.
ABOUT STUDENT GOT ABOVE 90 % IN SECONDARY EXAMINATION
GMSSS Thana one SC student has passed secondary examination with above 90% marks and got scholarship of Rs 50000/-
ABOUT FOUR STUDENTS GETTING SCHOLARSHIP UNDER NMMS
GMSSSS Thana four students have passed Pre Matric Scholarship examination in NMMS and got a scholarship of Rs 1000 per month.
ABOUT MID DAY MEAL
In GMSSSS Thana Mid Day Meal Scheme is used to serve the students of ist to 8th Hygienic M.D.M will be ensured for the students. Along with this milk is also given to students for three times in a week. The key objectives of the programme are: protecting children from classroom hunger, increasing school enrolment and attendance, improved socialisation among children belonging to all castes, addressing malnutrition, and social empowerment through provision of employment to women.
